Here are a few simple tips for being in harmony with the rhythm of winter:
Slow down. Allow for more quiet time with fewer commitments.
Do gentle movement practices or exercise. Gentle is key. Good examples are qi gong and restorative yoga.
Keep your kidneys and feet warm.
Sip a mindful cup of calming tea.
Be still, relax, read a book.
Journal for self-reflection.
Dream or vision.
Meditate.
Follow a simple bedtime routine to help you wind down– some possibilities include gentle breathwork, gentle stretching, and deep relaxation practices, such as yoga nidra.
Go to bed a little earlier when possible. Get plenty of rest and good sleep.
